WomenShade Pakistan has produced in 2009 a commercial on Domestic Violence, the purpose of producing commercial on violence is to curb this menace of domestic violence against women from the society which is according to certain reports are wide spread and it is said that around 90% of women in Pakistan are subjected to domestic violence.
The said commercial was telecasted on Cable Television for one month, that is to say, five spot a day, that brings the total number 150 spots for a month and it is estimated that around 35,000 people have been sensitized by said commercial.
We have received tremendous response from the audience and people have stressed upon the need of similar kind of commercial as this medium is not used for this purpose in Pakistan despite the fact that it is a strong medium.
WomenShade Pakistan is also planning to also produce such a commercial on local language and be telecasted on other part of the province and we also plane to arrange for telecasting this commercial on mainstream Television of the country.
Financial Resource for the said project was provided by the pooled-in resource of members and volunteers of WomenShade Pakistan.
